#oneword: An Esoteric Diary Reflection Meets Typography Practice

On my plane ride last night I had a thought – what if I could essentialize my day into 1 word? What would be the most important? I am a big fan of creativity in restraint and am currently working on a workshop on Visual Thinking called “Image is Everything” where this sort of minimalistic synthesis is addressed.
I also see it as a way to experiment with and practice my typography, since my palette is self-restricted to hot pink and black I really need to play in other ways.
Perhaps others can join in, too, so I shared it on Paper 53’s Mix.

I like it because it gets me into a reflective habit of mind – trying to figure out really what stood out for me that day, and I can share it but don’t have to explain it.
I’m always on the lookout for things that force me to get into a creative habit but aren’t time-consuming or difficult.
Here’s some from my first week, when I was working in San Francisco:

That one may look naughty but I finally got to chat on the phone with an idol of mine – Alejandro Piscitelli!
