#threethirtysketchquote: A Kick in the Creative Pants
I’ve been doing what I’ve deemed “Sketchquotes” for about a year now, mostly using the Paper app by Fifty Three. They are sort of mixed in to my Mycongraphy site of metaphorical icons and images I’ve created for slide presentations.
The first full week of school is over and boy, when the bell rings at the end of the day I feel like I need to
TAKE A BREAK AND MAKE
That’s when I decided to create #threethirtysketchquote as a tag and a Tumblr blog.
The gist is:
1. At 3:30 YOUR TIME (this is not like a Twitter chat where you have to consult a time zone chart because that is too much math for me), you search for an inspirational quote.
2. After finding your quote, think about the meaning and what you could draw to articulate the meaning in a highly visual way. I also recommend playing with the typography (think whimsical fonts!)
3. Digitize your sketchquote if it’s not already and post to Twitter, Tumblr, or Instagram with the tag #threethirtysketchquote. I will search for them in the evening Hawaii time (when all the civilized people are heading to bed) and repost on the Three Thirty Sketchnote Tumblr blog.
